Fairways and greens have grass.

Far better course and better value than Lydd.

Played there a couple of years ago and vowed never to go back but CrapHacker/BogieHole (or whoever he is today) persuaded me to go there for a game yesterday. tbh, it was far better than I remembered and, for a tenner you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the game mate. Really enjoyed it.

You were hitting the ball well but it was a bit windy though

Played there again yesterday afternoon, £10.00 on a Sunday!!
The rain that we have had recently has really helped the course, looking nice and lush and the greens are really coming on now.
Tad slow but in very, very good condition.
Another reasonable round, 35 points.

This may have been answered before, but was this the old Paxhill Park? Never played it, but drove into the car park once on the offchance of a game and turned around straight away - looked dreadful.

It is indeed Paxhill Park. I remember when it first opened I was tempted to go over and give it a bash because at the time I lived fairly close.
Never got around to it then and the bad reports about the place started to surface a couple of years later.
I visited it earlier this year on the recommendation of two friends who were waxing lyrical about the condition of the greens. When I did finally visit for the first time, the greens had been hollow tined and their recovery has been hampered a little by the incredibly dry weather we have had down here lately.
But on Sunday they were in superb condition. A little slow, but were really looking good.
The only time I've played cheaper golf than this was putting a fiver in the honesty box at Minto golf club in the Scottish Borders, and that was about 25 years ago!!
