Thinking of moving clubs and toying with Linden Hall GC. It is part of a hotel but it is not the usual hotel style golf set up. Any one here a member? I'm interested to know if there are any issues with the course being booked out. Anyone out there with any comments?

I played there in the summer , think it was a bank holiday and it was really quiet , its a nice course and I played better than I usually play

ive played it once

some good holes on it although does get wet in the winter tbh if i was you i would travel to the coast

goswick,bamburgh,dunstanburgh, alnmouth etc

silly not to

if i lived at morpeth i would join goswick as home club

Isn't that about an hour away from Morpeth?

Yes and so not realistic. I played at a links course previously and after many years pined for an attractive parkland course. I am still not ready again for the bleakness of links, nor the bare hard lies. I also find I play much more golf when a course is 10-15mins away. More than that and you don't just pop out for 9 holes, it becomes an event. Last year I played a lot of late evening, after work golf as my home course was just 10 mins away.

I like Linden Hall, nice course and facilities
Has some very good par 3's , very interesting and stand out.
But as has been said before, it's a bad draining course, and really struggles after wet spells.
I haven't played it for a couple of years, but I'd heard ( then ) there was very little investment on the course, and membership had dropped......

If I was in your area I'd probably be considering, Burgham Park, maybe Bedlington, Blyth, newbiggin ( great greens ) too.....??

Just as a footnote

Linden Hall is without a doubt the longest "walk" I've ever had at any course....!!
Distances between greens and tees are huge in places.
A few hundred yards at times

It's a proper hotel / resort course, designed to sell/rent buggies to visitors (IMO)
