Like the one minutes applause that seems to be de rigueur these days - especially at football matches - just too mawkish and ''look at me' for my taste. Let's pay tribute and raise money in dignified ways that smack less about look and listen to me raising money. So for instance getting it right - Adele stopping part way through her 90,000 audience shows and simply saying...'why don't you all just contribute £5 to the Grenfell Disaster fund. Given the extortionate cost of a drink that £5 is the cost of a glass of wine tonight - so rather than have that 'one more' - just give £5' And then she got on with the show.
