every notice that golf balls come in a variety of weights

light as a feather

lump of lead

just a newbie and taking lessons from a great pro - but it's one of the things i am noticing even although he hasn't even started to teach me swing (right knee lock for stability and proper posture was first lesson)

mabye I have picked up right tempo or swing through the ball or somthing.......know that in 2 weeks it can't be a strength thing and my shots have got 20 yards longer

and know that my first 5 shots each time at the range feel like hitting lead and then it starts to change to almost like the ball flies off ahead of the club light and easy and very little feeling of solid contact......

weird nice feeling

what does it feel like when you hit the ball?

is that what the pro ment when he said about learning to hit through a ball as though it's not there.......

feels like so little effort yet amazing sound and feeling (and distance) from the shot

You will find that once you get onto the course there is no better feeling than standing 150 yards away from the green and hitting it flush and feeling as though you hardly made contact and watch it soar onto the putting surface and nestle near the pin.

You will find that as you start every range session the ball won't fly off the face with that "click" you get when you hit the ball well until you are loose. Don't try and hit the first 10 or so poperly but just loosen everything up and work on maintaining the nice tempo the pro has obviously installed. One other thing you may find that on most ranges, the quality of the range ball can vary almost from ball to ball so some you think you have hit well may not fly so well given the age and condition of the ball itself

Keep going with the lessons. It sounds like you are doing great. Keep checking the basics every time you practice and you will be fine

thing is we aint done swing yet.......think he might show me this saterday

only been playing golf 12 weeks

spent first 8 weeks doing not bad for a woman (ex gymnast so still pretty fit and strong) getting 100-110 with 7 iron......

yet in one lesson and yeah 3-4 times a week at range I have added 20-30 yards and found "flushing"

I soooooo can't wait till lesson

laffs....he'll probably die of shock

a woman that actually listened to a man's advice ;-)

When you strike a ball cleanly it feels so good that even if you miss the target a little or overshoot (common when you start hitting well)you still feel great about the experience of a beautifully struck ball.

I hit reasonably well most of the time but when its perfect it still gives me the same glow of satisfaction I got the first time.

I too have only recently started with golf. Yes, the feeling you get when you absolutely nail one is brilliant. Then you wonder why you didn't do that the shot before!

That's the one thing about golf. No matter how bad you are, you always get a few really good shots per round. And that is what keeps you coming back for more. That is until you realize that it might just remain at only a few shots per round. In which case it gets very frustrating!

Stick with it. You will become obsessed with this annoying game.
