If you were playing a tie would you let a single player though, if the course was empty in front?

Or would make them wait as is your perogative due to having prioritry playing a tie?

Yes. Anyone who doesn't is an arrogant inconsiderate arse.

To be fair if the single player is told that its a club match they should just skip a hole or whatever.

I wouldn't expect to be let through or even want to interrupt a match when im just having a knock around.

If a Tie means an Interclub Match and
If it's only your group playing in it then

I'd explain the situation, including having priority, to the opposition and ask what they wished to do. If they don't wish to let folk through, I'd explain that to the guys behind - along with pointing out the Club's Priority rule. Any dis-satisfaction is then passed to the Club.

If no Club Rule about Interclub matches having priority, normal etiquette applies.

Actually, it's the same for 'Tie's that are simply Knockout matches for club comps if such ties qualify for priority.

That is, after all, why the Club has specified the rule. It's then just a case of communicating the fact that it is one.

Of course, when the guys behind are also a Tie, you may have a bit of an issue! Let them through would be my thought!

When I've known there is a Club Match immediately in front, I've kept an extra shot back to give them a buffer. If they turn out to be too slow, I skip holes to avoid any conflict. Nothing to be gained and lots to be 'lost' by forcing your way through!

I don't see any reason why playing a tie makes it any different to any other game, so yes no problem letting them through, although if its a club rule and they are wella ware before starting then they should get close enough to be let through.

I would let them through; I hate people waiting behind me, it puts me off as I subconsciously speed up my game in order to try to not keep them waiting and my game suffers as a result.

The single player would not necessarily know it was a tie, as a single player I never put undue pressure on groups in front, If I was playing the tie I would wait for an appropriate time to call them through.

its not about arrogance/rules/ etc it's just about common sense and us all enjoying the game. Calling through is not just about judging your group but the groups in front and behind.

I've heard the line "we couldn't let you through because we were playing a match" a few times.
What they actually mean is "we wouldn't let you through"

Even if a Club does have a priority rule, I doubt if it says that matches must NOT let others play through
