With all the negativity in the world atm I have just read this months "Letter of the month".

The reader sends in a letter saying he wished he never stayed up to watch the Players Championship because it was anti-climatic.

He also states the winner because he didn't smile when he won[I cant recall wether or not he did or he didn't].

He also states a billionaire sports industry churns out robots and goes on to say that golf needs a character or two.

The editors response does mention a few players with character.

The reader also mentioned Tiger as a great character[hows that going now].

After all this negativity what is his reward, yes you guessed it £250 worth of balls.

Are we now rewarding this type of written rubbish.

TBH i stopped getting the mag a couple of years ago after the revamp, went from being a serious golfers publication to another Todays Golfer

All golf mags are the same. Tips, a few letters and lots of adverts.

Personally I actually enjoy reading the magazine it has some great features and overall has a bit for everybody.

Rewarding people with monetary items for absolutely dissing a golfing event, the winner and players is imo sending out the wrong message.

I congratulate the honesty and impartiality , I wouldn't want to read only good stuff all of the time it's good to get some balance to everything.

Like to see more negative letters and articles!

Courses that are going down hill condition wise.

Courses going to the wall.

Cheating in golf.

Price of golf equipment.

or whatever.

Ah tell you what's scandalous, I got three Dunlop Pro V1s and a rule book for GM pinching a rule I asked on here a couple of months ago. Printed in Julys edition of GM

Worth at least a new set of Ping Irons me finks:whistle:

I subscribe to GM however also buy TG on occasions. You could be forgiven for thinking that they're produced by the same people as their content is incredibly similar.

I don't mean that they have similar layouts in terms of letters, articles, reviews, new gear etc etc. I mean that the content of the articles, what is reviewed and the new gear is identical in almost every issue.

I still enjoy GM and would continue to subscribe however wouldn't ever bother with them both.

I'm brassed off with the mag too - 2nd month in a row where there's no photo of me in my green t shirt!,

I quiet enjoy the mag still , i dont bother with the tips as it wrecks my head , but the contributing writers letters , Rules pages , letters from Mike & Bill Elliot & Jezz when he contributes , maybe its because im aware who the guys are (well Mike & Jezz) that i trust the content in it , also the fact you can contact them direct & get an honest answer on anything golf ..
Havent got this months yet but by sounds of it i understand Tony's dislike of it but its good the bad aswell as the good gets printed , isnt it ?
