Just watching the Par 3 coverage of the Masters and it seems that Mickleson has stirred some interest again in his equipment......Seems that he now has a Club that has the head size of a driver of 10 years ago but is around the size of todays 3 woods......

It has a 45" shaft which is 2" longer than most of the present 3 woods and it has 8 to 9 degrees of loft......

Word is that he hits this further than his driver and its supposed to have mental run out with less spin and a lower flight than a driver.......

How far off line is this one gonna be?

was listening to an interview with Butch Harmon and he referred to it as a 'frankenwood' lol

he reckons Phil hits it long but more controllable than a driver.... might be having a wee punt on Big Phil now ;)

Callaway posted on Facebook it's a Pfrankenwood great PR and interest already wether he use it or not!

getting there........... Phrankenwood

it's a 250cc 8.5 degree driver designed (as the RBZ he was playing) to deliver less backspin.

most amateurs want/need a reasonable launch angle, such ultralow launch and spin clubs in the hands of Phil will be interesting - but he's been tweaking like this for years.

250cc wow! that is small

wouldnt mind a go of one

at 250cc it's a hell of a lot larger than most Tour fairway woods (about 170cc) and, as has been commented, it's what we used to use (I think my Ping Eye driver is probably about 260)

if you want to get 'that feeling' you can get something like the RBZ II Tour fairway TS and dial in 11.5 loft - you wouldn't want to go down as low as Phil!

Maybe not....He carried 2 drivers in one of his rounds last year...One for a fade and one set for a draw.....

He must have dropped one of his woods even then. He carries a 3 & 5 wood combo most of the time. Can't see him having driver, frankendriverwhateveryoucallit and a 3 wood in the bag. Would make sense to me to drop the 3 wood and keep the 5 in the bag.
