I am wondering how your club issues tee times for weekend comps and also how many comps do you have per week. Reason I ask is maybe I am after a new club for next year but wont join a club with a joining fee cheers

I have only just started playing comps this year so still getting to grips with it but we tend to have 2 comps a week at the weekend with at least one of them been an 18 hole stableford or medal. To get a tee time you just book in the pro shop, theres only about 50 (which I thought was low) people play in the regular ones so getting a tee time is easy. They have 8 order of merit comps which are the main comps and I think these are drawn and have a lot higher precipitation.

All done through an online booking system (BRS). If you book a week in advance, you can more or less pick whatever time you like.

Comps on Sat, Sun, Weds and Bank Holidays.

Rawdon GC, no joining fee, a comp every weekend and tee times go up on a sheet, two Thursdays before the Saturday comp. best thing about the place is the crack!

full membership is £875

we have comps on wednesday, friday and saturday. Saturday comps you sign up 2-3 weeks in advance for the main draw and get pulled out at 'random' (not really very random people tend to get drawn with regular partners) for a tee time between 8am and 10:30am or you can put your name down to play before or after with whoever you want.

Depends on your age. Various deals going up to the age of 40.

Wike Ridge is a nice course but is full of pay and play golfers on weekends which would irritate me..

I think it's £1300 at ours but there's reductions for under 31s. On the steep side but you do get 27 quality holes

Whats the course like mate? I live in Idle but have never played it and its only 5-10 minutes away.
