I've been playing golf for the last 25 years, but the last 5 years only really taking an interest. My game is starting to take shape as in the last couple of months i got a set of callaway razrx irons and decided i wanted to drop my handicap which seems to be working.

I have gone from shooting rounds in the 110's with the odd upper 90 thrown in, now in the last 7 rounds ive shot 99, 93, 103, 90, 95, 92, 97 ( the 103 being the championship course in chesire ), any way I had figured my grip was wrong so after figuring out the correct grip (hands) I have now noticed that by almost exaggerating the width of my stance i was hitting ball after ball straight at the driving range including my driver.

Do you think this could be a key move for me as i could feel the club in the entire swing and control the speed ?

No question the grip will have made a difference if it was wrong. A lot of people forget about the fundamentals but they are called that for a reason. Not sure about the width of your stance. I was always told to take a wide stance, but I took that too literally and went too wide. Once I narrowed it to shoulder width with the driver and improved my posture, I started hitting it a lot straighter.

i think stance is important to check... you look down and think yeah feet are as wide as shoulder edges... but you should measure that distance across you shoulders.... mark it on an alignment stick and look where you place ball relative to feet and you'll see a big difference

..and grip..... absolutely critical... so easy to slip into bad positions...
