Learned a lesson today

Not played a proper round for a couple of months but actually got some free time today and went out for 18 holes - it was cold in the house and a bit colder and drizzly outside.

So I got wrapped up, forgetting that a walk round the golf course warms you up, and the drizzle had stopped - top half of the body was no problem - jacket off, jersey off by reaching the green on the second hole - but waterproof trousers with thermals underneath were - nowhere to remove the under layer - by the time I got to the back nine I was roasting hot.

Absolutely knackered by the time I walked the 500 yards home from the 18th green.

Been there. Uncomfy but I'd rather be too warm than too cold

I've had my underarmour on a few times this year, not once did I need it, even playing in torrential rain last week I was roasting!

Think next week it's trouser time with maybe a jumper

Good month or so away from under layers yet

Way too warm for UA base layers and still using the thinner cotton jumpers for the most part. Cant see that changing at the weekend either

Don't think I underestimated the importance - just got the choice wrong - it needs to be absolutely baltic before thermals under waterproof trousers are considered. Lesson re-learned.
