Hi All,

Anybody here tried the leaderboard training aid?

Saw one "in the flesh" at the Scottish Golf Show last year, never got the chance to try it properly!

I tried one as part of a lesson and to be perfectly honest I was far happier before I tried it as I completely lost my balance and timing. Probably a good training aid with practice but it does take some getting use to

Thanks Homer, I've got a chronic over the top/casting action, and the more I assess the cause, the more I come to think it's down to improper weight transfer. Thought the leaderboard may help, would allow me to practice out the side of the house as well, where no one can see me!!

Before you go out and get one (they are pretty dear) have a look at your posture. If you get more knee flex so that if you hold a shaft from your shoulders it passes through the edge of your right knee and into the ball of your right foot, you will have a better position to get the weight across naturally without having to be aware of it.

It should help you with any overswing which may cause an reverse pivot which sounds like it may be the problem although without seeing you hit a ball it is hard to say. Give it a go on the range and focus on keeping the knee flex constant throughout the swing. I'm not saying it is the cure but I know it is something my pro has worked with me on when I've had a reverse pivot problem.
