what's the last course people of the board have played?

for me it was rio real on the costa del sol in spain last week (family holiday but managed to sneak a couple of rounds in, you know how it is)

nice track in great nick. pretty tight and you needed to be able to hit a draw on about 10 holes as I remember. Dont think jack Nicklaus was the designer!!!!

Just played Formby as a guest of a member and it has to be the best value at £20. All this rain seems to have made the course even better. Can't believe it is only 43 on the top 120 list. Must try and get to some of the higher placed ones.

Had a great time a couple of weeks ago playing Hillside and Southport & Ainsdale

Both were real treats and that stretch of Lancashire is full of gems

Looking forward to returning there for the Open at Birkdale

St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Oakmont...

At this point I should add the editorial team had an afternoon at metro golf http://www.metro-golf.co.uk/in Paddington on Wednesday and had five hours of intense competition and banter on the indoor simulators

returning to the real world it was a game last Friday at Burnham Beeches http://www.bbgc.co.uk/ near Slough - a real hidden gem and definitely worth checking out

I played Wentworth's East course on Tuesday. It's a par 68 but because there are plenty of 420+ yard par 4s it's a really tough test. Just as enjoyable as the West

Assume from your name that you are of Scottish origin? Could it be that your aversion to the West is based on the fact that it costs not far short of £300 to get a game on it?

Played a nice course up in your homeland recently - Banchory on the banks of the River Dee. Very pleasant and not too daunting with one memorable hole - a very short par-3 played straight up a 50ft vertical slope.

Thanks for the tip Furyk or Unique I'll check it out.

No, I'm not concerned about the cost of Wentworth West. It's just rubbish especially when you compare it to its nearest neighbour Sunningdale.
