I have a bushnell v2 and has definatly helped me out.

I was 10.0 before i got it in july this year and now down to 7.7.

I know its not purely on the bushnell however from 100 yards in its really helpful to know your exact yardage

Yes - Nikon COOLSHOT (had Bushell before but is broke and had SkyCaddie before that).

Point, shoot, you know how far it is to the flag or very very easy if the fat bloke in front is tending the flag!

You know how far it is and you hit it - simples.

Couldn't and wouldn't play without one now......

i've a laser and gps. laser for pin, gps for front and back yardages. since adding the laser i have become more aware of my actual yardages than previously with only gps. i attack a lot more shots than i used to. it has helped throughout the bag, but in particular 7iron down for approach shots - really handy for laying up too (much quicker than gps for this). worthwhile if you're a fairly consistent striker.

they take away any doubt on numbers. if u accept what they tell you they are great. by that I mean if it says 150 its 150, it might look 130 or 170 but its 150!
definitely gives me the confidence in club selection.

I have Bushnell v3 and just feel that knowing the exact distance settles the mind to the shot in hand .... Then I botch it!

Same for me although I would say its not helped reduce my handicap. I do rely on my bushnell way too much.

I've just got a V3 Tour and I love it. I was using a g6 approach previously, but couldn't gel with it.

Had one, gave it to a friend to use as I just couldn't be bothered with it. I now have a GPS and have that clipped to the bag. Distance to the middle of the green is all I need. I'm not consistant enough to hit perfect yardages every time. Quick look as soon as I put the bag down, choose the club, hit the little white ball.... Horses for courses....

I had a Laser for a while and it was very useful
I've gone back to GPS now as I found that, because the focus is on the flagstick I would constantly be aiming at it.
Might sound daft but often going Pinseeking isn't the right play and I found myself doing that all the time.
If the pin was in the middle I was ok but around the edges, if I missed my target, I might be off the green or in a bunker.


They're also useless in mist and low light......

My bushnell can cope with the bad light but played in the fog and tried to use it and gave up. Went back to free caddie on the iPhone for the day.

I've used a laser since 1999, way before they were legal and used it on practise rounds and range work and have defiantly helped. It makes the decision process quicker in which club, before that you either had marker posts or yardage charts then guess on much you had to add or subtract to the pin.......

I have both laser and GPS. I use the laser mainly for 100 yards and in. l wouldn't want to be without it now, though I find you lose the ability to judge distance accurately once you have used one for a while

I switched from laser to GPS. The laser was good but after several years I realised I wasn't good enough for exact yardages and knowing front\middle\back and hazards was much more useful.

As Imurg says, useless in mist, fog, low light and also I found directly into the sun

I have both too as both laser and gps have pros and cons so I was able to have both and get can the info I want whichever way I need.
Got the Shotsaver SLR500 from hot golf great value IMO.

I have a Bushnell, it helps at other courses definitely. I try not to rely on it too much at my home course. There have been times during a practice round when i've left it on my other bag and it hasn't made much difference. As someone else mentioned, its very useful when you stand looking at a pin thinking it looks like 130, laser it and its 150.

I've got a Bushnell v3. Particularly useful from 100 and in, but also useful for getting exact carry distances for hazards. I would definitely recommend.

The he pro at my club said that GPS can be out by 5-10 yards in bad weather. I agree that a laser isn't much use in fog or for blind shots.
