Thoughts???

I would certainly consider giving him a spot. Man is in the form of his life, two majors withing a couple of weeks on both sides of the Atlantic, his scoring stats are awesome and his experience is second to none.

Also looking at the current team where there could be a minimum of four rookies he's a great choice.

Go on Monty, get him on board. You know it makes sense!!!!

I wouldn't rule it out. I think it will depend on what the final make-up of automatic qualifying is like.

I would have Langer over Sergio at the moment.

Sergio has all but ruled himself out by taking 2 mths off after the USPGA anyway

unless any force their way in it will be Harrington, Casey and Rose that get the 3 picks you'd expect. Personally would think Karlson also a better option than Langer or Garcia too.

He aint even playing this week...had enough of the game.He has looked like Tiger has, totally uninterested.

Plenty players that warrant a pick in front of him and he was never ever a starter for a pick anyway.

Sergio seems to have lost a little bit of his lust for life since Greg Normans daughter chucked him, flippin wimmin, they have ruined me as well, I cudda bin a contender if it wasn't for my good looks ;)

Aren't the major tournaments for the seniors played off the yellow tees? :p

I'd take an inform confident experienced Langer over an out of sorts done nothing playing like a fud Harrington.

Harrington is a winner and is also a great putter.
Ryder Cups are always putting contests and if you really need someone to hole a 20 footer under pressure Harrington is your man.
He's a shoe in.

I understand your thinking, but don't agree. Why go back to Langer even if he is in the form of his life? Loads of us were saying the same about Rhys Davis earlier in the year he was playing great golf, just a little off the pace right now. Surely it's better to blood a younger player who is likely to play the next 3 ryder cups Langer has been there done that. Also does he get on with Monty or not???

Anyway do we really think the Yanks are going to win....? I can't see them winning over here this time. Seems to me that a lot of the top players are very inconsistent this season.

Just don't expect him to put you on the fairway if he plays foursomes. ;)

I am unsure if Padraig will get a pick but the next 2 weeks showings are crucial to that.Finished strongly over the weeked but was still somewhat wayward, maybe he will have it all ironed out this week.

Loads of players I would take before Langer, big Bob Karlsson,Casey,Hanson,Donald,Quiros,Fisher,Wilson,Noren, some in there will make it outright but have the possibility of being edged out.....Langer playing just aint going to happen...imagine the slating if Monty picked the old boy and he got stuffed!

The one fella that is worrying me at the moment is Poulter, his form has deserted him. :(

If you need a point on Sunday you would prefer Langer to a rookie who hadn't been played in any of the fourballs.

They could do worse but I think they could also do better

Given the choice of inform players who haven't qualified, or Langer, I would hope Rose, Karlsson, Casey, etc get the nod instead of Langer. His time has gone. He uses a broom stick too. No way I'd pick him. And he missed the putt that lost us the cup a while back.

Does he even qualify, not being on the European tour? Surely if he does, there are other Europeans playing in the States who could be picked who also aren't on the European Tour?
