or the Wirral classic, even the midlands one same week would all be more appealing IMO

St Annes Old Links and Fairhaven are good courses,the other 2 are ok as well.The Southport event is at great venues,but £125 for 4 days golf at the Lancs one is great value..Heard the Wirral one is a good event too.

Two cracking courses. Hillside is 9 1/2 out of 10. West Lancs is very good, but tough as old boots in the wind.

Don't get me wrong, the Southport Classic is a treat and the courses are fab, but I also really rate Preston, Fairhaven and SAOL (ive never played Penwortham). I played Fairhaven on Sunday and with all the rain and bad weather I have never played a course in such good condition...... The North West Crew played Preston and SAOL last year and everybody loved the courses.... I would go for it. You wont be disappointed.

Agree with you mate, that's a pretty good competition there. Just because they aren't big name courses doesn't mean they are no good etc.
I would be surprised if anybody played that and was disappointed.

Quite a reasonable price as well
The Southport coast event sounds great apart from having to qualify to play Birkdale, Id rather pay extra and have it guaranteed.

Got a team entered in this 9.30am slot,Penwortham first course.Played it last year enjoyed it a lot,and as in some previous posts Penwortham and Preston are good tracks also..Think the Southport event is now £319,5 days golf..Great courses,but at nearly £65 a day?...Will not be turning up with Lake balls for these..
