Lancashire area course advice please...

For a summer round, I have these options only:

Knott End
Preston
Wilpshire
Clitheroe
Blackburn
Burnley

For those who have played these- what's your top 3?

Clitheroe excellent but tough
Wilpshire very good

I absolutely love Preston. Looks stunning when in full bloom. A proper test of golf and your legs.

In order for me.
Preston a good variation or holes, there are about 4 in the middle that are a bit samey, but the rest make up for it.
Clitheroe is good, not that tough from the reds at least and has recently been a regional Open qualifying course, ,
Burnley is on the top of the moors, not a bad course though,
Wilpshire a bit quirky quite a few up and downs, not a great fan
Blackburn I haven't played yet.

Shame Pleasington isn't an option for you.

Preston and Clitheroe are by far the stand outs. Streets ahead of the others you mention.

Clitheroe would top the list for me followed by Preston. Burnley and Blackburn are ok but nothing to stand out. Like Louise says, it's a shame Pleasington isn't on your list.

I've just been watching this Pleasanton video to get another look at 'that' par 5 7th hole. Only got to play it once but I will never forget it. Would love to try the shot from the top left fairway.

So funny seeing peoples drives trickle down the hill to your feet as you prepare to play your second shot.

Just realised no one has commented on Knott End, I have only played it once and it was a very long time ago, so I dont feel able to comment,' however although it is on the coast it isnt a links course, also I don't know where you will be staying but it is a bit of a pain to get to.

Obviously biased towards Preston but have played Clitheroe out of the others and it's a great course.

Don't bother with Knott end - play Clitheroe.
