THought I'd treat myself to a couple of new grips this week.

Never having done it before, I wanted to know whether my choice of Lamkin is any good? Will they last etc? Good quality?

I bought them from the pro shop, I chose one for my 4 wood which is 3 and half years old i think and worn quite a bit, one for my putter which is 5 years old and in need of it and one for my sandwedge which I never liked the grip from the start anyway.

I've gone for the orange and red ones, Red on my 4 wood and orange for my putter and SW :-)

Quite looking forward to picking them up and using them in the paddys day match on Friday!

Lamkin are all my pro stocks, so have no idea how they stack up to other grips, or even how many other types there are? BE good to hear feedback

Thanks

Most manufacturers make a good product, I like the new Golf Pride MCC plus 4 . I use Gamola who have great choice and generally good prices

I've had them in the past but I found them a bit too firm

I have Iomic sticky 2.3's on my woods & when I come to change the grips on my irons they will be going on them too. They are expensive but they are soft & very tacky, also they don't degrade like a rubber grip does so they never go hard & crack.

They made the Cobra amp grips so when I re-gripped I went with the same just without the "Cobra" branding. Never had any problems with them, lasted me a couple of seasons playing on average once a week. I know you should re-grip once a season but if you take care of grips and keep them clean then in my opinion they can last at least 2 seasons.

Now using Funk'd grips which I've had on for about 2 years now, probably about time to change but they don't feel too bad to be honest so I might try and get another season out of them.

Thanks all. Glad I went with them then. As for my other clubs, well they don't need them. They're about 3 years old but still good as new and that's with playing once or twice a week. People who change so often must eat them or something! 😂

Last 4 sets of grips have been Lamkins i3g - very nice

Lamkin are absolutely first class IMHO. Almost 5 years ago I bought a set of second hand MX25s with Lamkin Tour Full Cord grips. Those grips are as good now as they were then. In fact I think they are the best grips I have ever used. Pity they don't still make hem.

Lamkin grips used to be excellent. Don't get me wrong... they're still good... but not what they once were. They've buggered around with the Crossline formula so that it is a much harder feeling grip than it used to be. They've also got several other formulae rubbers that just are a mess.... the UTX's are just awful.

Used to be my grip of choice but now I used Golf Pride Tour Velvets pretty much exclusively.

I got Lamkin Classic grips on my irons which are like rocking horse sheee eyte to get hold of, but are excellent.
