Playing the gents open there tomorrow.

Anyone any thoughts on the course or tips on how to play it.

Looking at the scorecard it appears very challenging.

Thanks,
KenL

No tips other than keep it straight , which isn't exactly something original.
But do enjoy it, it was a great course when I played it, very enjoyable.

You are right it is very challenging but it is also very fair and there are opportunities to score well, it’s an excellent corse you should have a great day.

I played it as a members guest last year and really enjoyed the day.

Ladybank is great, tight but if you keep it on the short stuff away from the heather it’s definitely scoreable.
A bit of rain is always good for ladybank it can get like a bowling alley when it burns out, played it a few times when it’s been rockhard and it can get tricky.

A lovely track, that and Lundin are brilliant. Enjoy.

Is this worth the £95 twilight they're after? We're looking to add a 4th round when we visit in July.
I played a few years back. As others have found, it's a lovely heathland course and a nice contrast to the links nearby. About 8 years ago, cost around £35 each for a mid morning tee time...

Anyway, the only slight niggle was that we had to play off the yellow tees. Now I'm no long hitter, but it felt a little short. I wonder if that's still the case.

We're all bang on 18 handicaps so play yellows everywhere we go, won't be a problem for us thankfully.

The yellows are blue and 6300 yards. That doesn’t seem short to me.
