Where's the best place to purchase clubs??

HID has taken up the game and has been using some gents Wilson fat shaft with graphite shafts but I think they may still be a bit heavy..... She tried some for weight in AG and commented how much lighter they were!!

She's prob not quite ready for custom fitting so was hoping to suggest that she get standard then maybe get loft and lie checked and maybe altered for her...... Problem is around us the stocking of women's clubs is very limited..... Even AG in TC only had 2 sets. So maybe a internet jobby......

Your help would be much appreciated!!

This is disappointing, I thought this post was going to be about the fact that they shouldn't be allowed on the course :D

Plenty of sets in larger AG stores. Failing that, you may wish to try on one of the many online retailers.

Bear in mind that there are many bargains to be had from gumtree- you'd be surprised about the bargains you can get from people who have bought a set of clubs and used them only a couple of times.

My ex girlfriend decide to start playing and I got her some irons from ebay. Callaway x-14 with ladies graphite shafts for £60 I think. Regarding fitting I think that will depend on how tall she is. My ex was 5'8 and after I got the clubs I got the pro at the club to have a look at them and he just knocked them upright a degree to make her have a better address position.

I think you need to think what your budget is, but I think I spent about £300 and for that she got 5i-SW Cally X-12, a 3&4 cally hybrid and PING Rhapsody 14* driver and 17* fairway wood. That was a couple of years ago, so well worth looking around Ebay for some clubs, rather than going and buying a cheap starter set for her.

For cheapness either gumtree or ebay. Also, Lytham Golf Academy have plenty of choice for ladies. Won't be cheap there though.

My wife plays and as others have said American golf or an online store.

Next set of clubs she is thinking of looking at a gents set with senior flex/soft regular so there is a better range to choose from...pink or baby blue clubs can get a bit boring!

I concur , good ladies set up there and they offer free fitting too! Good lads who wil price match!

Also try lytham green drive as they have a big ladies section there too! american golf in Preston has a poor range of ladies clubs

pity you did not ask a week a go as my wife had just given her old set away ,sorry

Thanks all.....

She is right handed Dave, thanks anyway....

I may drive u to lytham then and have a look, I bought some cheap men's graphite clubs from our pro when she started going to the ladies nights at the range, we've had a few trips to the course now and she is hooked..... Don't think the clubs are doing her any favours tho, she seems to lose the club slightly at the top of her back swing....

I have been looking on eBay and there does seem to be some bargains but I am a bit sceptical (or maybe just un trusting) when it comes to buying from there!!

If she's using regular men's graphite shafts and isn't too short for them then I doubt getting ladies clubs will make a huge difference. Unless she wants a pink set...... it's all just marketing. Might be worth persevering with those until she's ready for a decent set and gets a proper custom fit.

Will your Pro not check that they are OK for her then. My Pro did with all of us lady beginners who'd bought secondhand clubs to start off with. Infact he has only just let me buy new irons but then he is a Pro who won't let you spend money needlessly.
