Anyone watching on the Beeb just now?
Good entertaining stuff, the ladies are making a decent effort at it, forgot how good a course Birkdale is - proper links with big dunes and some good seaside UK weather too!

Like her or not Christina Kim is very good value to watch, great entertainer and not a bad player either - her outfit is quite stylish today too. :)

Think Kerr will win myself.

why am I sat watching it on tv when I could be there, it's abotu 50 minutes from me and I think it's free. Great course but still prefer the one at the side - Hillside

Pro ladies golf is more akin to how we play, distances they hit etc (Wie excluded) so you could learn something!

No it's down to the Korean government and pushy parents.

The men go into business. It's expected.

For the girls, they used to be forced into playing musical instruments to make money, but then the gov/parents saw a hole in the golf market, and pushed them into golf instead.

In the mens game, there wasn't the same gap in quality.

I read an article by Monty and in it he was saying the Korean blokes would be swarming the world top 50 come ten years time....it looks like already a few are showing their faces.

That'll be good news for me then. If they're all taking golf seriously and no longer practising the piano 23 hours a day, I approve.

I went last year (Lytham) <and am going again tomorrow.

I thought Kim was loud and brash on TV but she is a 100% entertainer on the course. The players are not so distant from the crowd compared to the men's game - there is so genuine interaction that is truly worth the ticket price.

Where else can you follow attractive women (well some of 'em) around all day without getting arrested?!?

It's also down to conscription. The men have to do their national service and lose those years out of top class golf. Some never make it back, the others are probably three or four years behind the women.
