Hi

I am going on a winter break to the Costa del Sol in Feb next year. Since we a are on a bit of a budget found this place for 150 euros for a week unlimited play. Was just wondering if anyone had played this course and what your thoughts are on it?

Not played it, but do know it is very hilly, tight, big doglegs, and some blind tee shots. Think you need a buggy to get round so worth checking out the cost of one. Actually that is probably why I haven't played it. Reviews I have read seem to say it is not bad, great views and clubhouse, and for the money looks a bargain.

I play at the two courses by the Royal Flamingos hotel, which are superb, but are more expensive.

I stayed right across the road from La Duquesa a couple of years ago..... but didn't play it.

We played a place called something like Don Juan, this was OK, if you like your golf course lined by half finished apartments. Also Alcaidesa links, I liked this course, it had lovely views and a top clubhouse. However that doesn't help you much.

La Duquesa looks at Richard described, in good nick, tight and hilly.

I like the area, I had a cracking night out in Estapona and met a lovely Argentinian florist.

Thanks for the replies. Just got an email back from the course and they said that that price includes buggy hire as well! Awesome. I am not expecting it to be on par quality wise with some of the other courses in that area but can always play a one off round at a top end course. As long as its equivalent to a decent muni I will be happy. Just can't wait to go.

It's a Robert Trent Jones designed, so it is going to be a good one...no idea about the condition though, but at that price, dunno. Actually just looked and the normal price for 2 is 90€, which is about normal...so you could get lucky!
