Just about to book a 7 night, 5 rounds package at La Cala for 4 couples. Have heard the resort itself is a bit pricy for food and drinks, so we would probably be looking to go into La Cala de Mijas in the evenings - anyone know best way to get there for 8 people? Minibus? 2 taxis? any idea of costs would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

We were there last yr and the on site restaurant was good and not overly expensive but certainly a little more than the restaurants down at mijas. There's also another place on the way down to mijas, sorry I can't remember its name but it was very good and packed when we were there which shows how good & popular it was.

In terms of a taxi I think it was around 8-10 euros to/from mijas. The facilities at la cala are great but bear in mind there's no sand in the bunkers, it's crushed marble so needs a different technique and will also destroy the base/face of your club.

A couple of the courses have some big carries off the yellow & white tees and the shaping of so sniff the fairways means tag a great straight drive ends up in the barrancas.

If you need any further info just let me know.

been there a few times- hire a large car- theres 4 couples so the cost will be very good per head and gives you (and no doubt the golf widows) some freedom when you lads are driving down the fairways.

Excellent resort, lovely interior, rooms are good but a wee bit small but all rooms have great views.

enjoy!

Hi CMAC, thanks for your reply but the ladies are golfers too :D and are probably more likely to be on the fairways than the lads hehe
