Played it yesterday , and recommend it to anyone who is in the area to have a look. 5 mins fom M1 J22 near Leicester. Played with Dick, who unfortunately had tp pack in after 13 holes due to a dodgy knee. Hope it heals soon Dick. Bargain basket of scampi and chips for £4.95 rounded off a good day. Cheers Dick

Glad you enjoyed your round One Putt! Sorry I had to leave you to play 14-18 on your own. Swelling in knee has now reduced after extensive icing and elevation, just need the internal bruising to go and then I will be able to play again.

In the meantime the course continues to catch up after the wet winter and should be bang on by the time I am fit again.

Sounds great and looking forward to our mixed open there. Is it anything like Luffenham Heath which I played yesterday? Cracking course but horrendous wind (course that is, not me :o)!

MM - hope the knee heals fast.

Thanks for that Amanda. I'm afraid I was kicked by too many centre-half when I was younger.

I wish Kirby was like Luffenham but unfortunately we are parkland on Leicestershire clay rather than heathland.

However, we do have some of the best putting surfaces for miles around, just ask Wrighty1874. The course is over 90 years old (club is over 120) and is quite tight in many parts with trees a constant and water a real factor on at least nine holes (stream and a lake).

By the time you play it the course should be back somewhere near its best.

Hope you enjoy yourselves.
