Ridiculous start to the day...After a stressful 15 minute journey to the London Club for the KOD event we find that the promised bacon rolls don't exist and we have to hand over our drivers to get in 😢

Then they show us into the most amazing breakfast buffet, and promise to give our drivers back later 😀

Looks like it's going to be a great day after all!

Plus 1 on Duncan's comments, we were expecting a bacon roll, not a full English :)

It's a high calorie, high wind day, not necessarily connected :)

Reluctantly fitted for a putter (I've been a not the putter its me camp) but it was a bit of a revalation and I couldnt argue with the analysis or results; I really thought this was going to be a cheap day!
It is really really windy....but the clouds are blowing through rather than raining at the moment.
Discussions in the tour van regarding issues such as 'how many wedges do the tour guys get through?'. (They have 3 sets that they cycle through the practice days, event and back with the van being refreshed - they don't refresh the groves they always add new heads and change grips when appropriate. Cycles run around 4 to 6 weeks for wedges.) Another interesting factor is the difference between driver heads (it's all about the spec, legality and they need to last ) and fairway woods where marginal builds to deliver hot faces come into it!

Been following the day on twitter - looks blustery to say the least! Despite the wind though I'd give an arm and a leg to be there instead of revising :(

Someone should suggest that Joe Miller does his watermelon-vaporising trick

Back home from a great day.

Food was top notch and the two Callaway guys assigned to us really made sure we were well looked after. It was great to meet up with Imurg, Philthefragger, CVG, Duncan etc as well as Steve Tilley and the boys from Salisbury as well as other guys from last year and also the forum. If you get to see the Robert Lee interview with Simon it was priceless to watch being filmed.

Our first port of call was to the chipping area where we had one of the best tips about chipping that I think will really help my game. All the areas were great but the 40 mph winds made things difficult. Apparently I gained 18 yard with the new XR driver over my x2Hot and the selection to represent the team was the longest driver and the 4th longest which surprisingly was me!

So the finale of the longest team drive was all the 100 players, 3 tour players, Robert Lee, Dennis Pugh, the GM team and Callaways guys as well as cameras movies and Robert Lee taking the proverbial on the mike and me and Steve on the tee!

We didn't have the fire power to win but Steve and I gave it a go and my second shot of 250 yards in the strong crosswind was probably as good as I could do, especially as the guy in the utube video went just before me. Surprisingly my nerve held really well

Thanks to the guys in our team, Callaway, Mike and the GM boys, the very approachable tour guys, the wonderful Joe Miller and everyone who helped - a fabulous day

Again sounds like you all had a great day. What was the chipping tip then ?

To stand more upright and the heel of the club lifts off the ground and hit more with the toe end. To be fair it really worked for me and I didn't duff a single shot

Another superb "Money Cant Buy" day from GM and Callaway
By heck was it windy, Great short game master class from Denis Pugh, and had a particularly helpful putting session with Oliver Wilson.
Nice guys all of them

Sweet Bejeezus that was windy!
40-50mph winds and stronger gusts.
It was a shame as it made it difficult to swing anywhere near properly and didn't fill you with enthusiasm to hit too many balls.
Still a brilliant day - many thanks to GM, Callaway and all the Pros...

Oh and Mighty Joe did destroy a melon and the debris blew all over the other Pros and Rob Lee...

Glad you all enjoyed the day gents, some of applied but missed the cut :-(

I bet you had fun in that wind. I popped into our place and played a few holes that included a 195yard 8 iron on our par 3 17th. Now that is forum distances !
