Played the preliminary round of our matchplay King Rabbit tournament this evening, in my first ever taste of matchplay. Was feeling relaxed on the first tee, and quietly confident, giving my opponent 3 shots.

10 holes in I'm playing like a complete tool. Topping drives(?) and playing poorly. I found myself 5 down after 10, so I pretty much wrote the thing off, thinking I'd be taking an early bath from the competition.

But what do you know, walked off the 18th with the win, 1UP! Absolutely bloody delighted! Hit the drive of my life on the last and my opponent conceded without me taking a putt.

So, even when you're down and out, you're not out... Or something else equally profound.

played in my 1st matchplay, our 4 ball summer knouckout a couple weeks back, 4 up after 4, 5 up after 7, and did'nt win till 17th, got to love it!

Been there many a time, 5 down after 5, won the next 5 to be square after 10' 3 up with 3 to play only need to half one hole... Finishing all square.

Sometimes the pressure off is the best relief.

Good on ya!
Do you think you relaxed thinking it was all over?

i think so mate, thought I was down and out after 10. To be fair, he had a wobble on 16/17 which cost him badly. Very pleased though and looking forward to Captains day on Saturday now.

I am through to the semi final of our Rabbits matchplay, I was behind all the way but kept on plugging away and took it on the 17th.

Well done tsped83.

Well done mate, it is true though I've been there where we were 5 up with 6 to play and the momentum changed to the opposition, we managed to just hang on though but we thought we were going to mess up.
