If you never owned a Walkman then this thread is not for you... If you still lovingly remember yours then watch this video of this generation react to your pride and joy...

I think some of the kids are possibly a bit special

But then I think it's something they will never have seen, I watch my 2 year old working an ipad with ease so in 5 or 10 years I may have to give him a tape or CD player to work out it could be comedy gold

Used to love my Walkman - until it started to chew up my tapes !

I've just bought myself a turntable, been without one for years. The look on the kids faces as this bit of plastic goes round and round and music comes out was worth the money alone!

A blast of brand names came back to me... remember Aiwa, Marantz, Binatone, Bush, TDK, BASF, Ferguson, Pioneer, Tensai and Memorex to name a few?

Sony is exiting the TV business.. so you might add it to the list too..

Marantz still going strong Alan, their new AVR range is pretty damn tasty as well.
Still got an old Marantz amp from 1994 that sounds as sweet as the day I bought it, still running the same KEF Coda speakers.

Bought a turntable to add to the stereo in the living room and the look on my kids faces when I got my old vinyl out was priceless!

What no wharfdale's! :D

Its good to hear they haven't all died out, anyone still using a Grundig or Deca-vision TV?

I remember when getting a teletext TV meant taking the back off one that didn't have it and slotting in a PCB

(I also used to sell Sinclair c5's ;))
