If the fight is fair and square I predict a Gomez win.

However the cynic in me believes that Gomez will have been offered serious money to put up a poor showing to help further boost the stock of the cash-cow that is Amir Khan.

It does to go on.

tbh whilst I do enjoy watching boxing and watch the majority of the main British fighters when they have a match I have been so disappointed with Khans last 2 or 3 fights even though he has won- they have not provided great entertainment. I'm not sure if it is due to the weight at which he boxes but the action just doesn't compare for me to fights from not so long ago such as Mayweather v De la Hoya. I know you can't blame him for it not being enjoyable he is there to get a job done in whatever way he can even if it is in the first round, but I don't know if I'll tune in tonight from fear of inevitable disappointment. That said I do think he will win, all of his chosen opponents so far have been people that Warren has known he will beat so I can't see that changing yet. Although I do know very little about Gomez so maybe an upset could be on the cards.

Khan will win as Gomez has had 1 fight to many. Hopefully soon they may bring someone out who will give Khan a good fight. We will then know how good he actually is.

Turned out to be a decent enough fight. Plenty of toe-to-toe action which actually suited Gomez better than Khan but Khan eventually won in the 5th despite being dumped onto the canvas in the 2nd . I think Khan still needs a couple more bouts before thinking about a world title chance.

I agree entirely Jon (I did end up watching and it wasn't too bad a fight actually) if Khan had been on the receiving end of some of his own combos he wouldn't have had a chance of staying on his feet. In that respect Gomez did very well, and I think Khan's corner were worried at stages as was Frank Warren. Khan also showed his inexperience as he didn't have a clue how to deal with Gomez on the inside, at long range he was boxing well but Gomez really did show a huge hole in Khans armory and somebody better would exploit it. At least Warren knows he is not ready for a world title fight yet.
