kerbed alloy wheels!!!

evening all

anyone know what I'd be looking at to refurb alloy wheels (either individually or all 4) and any reputable companies (national or SE) that they could recommend

Parking at Wentworth early this morning (bit of a rush and not concentrating) and majorly mullered my driver's side rear alloy. Sickener.

All four have now been kerbed to some degree and frankly it makes me ill to look at them

These people are very good Mike.

Not cheap mind you but they do an immaculate job. I have used them in the past and they are ace at what they do.

Ooooo, tough break. I guess it will cost you more than a Wentworth green fee for all four, however obviously it depends on what your driving.

Obviously it depends on what specific alloys they were, and what size they were etc, but I know two people who have had similar thoughts in terms of wanting to repair kerbed wheels.

One mate found that it would be 'uneconomical' to repair them and ended up buying a new set.

The other paid about £200 to repair all 4, however this was a £600 set of alloys so was money reasonably well spent I suppose. He used these people and their rough / approximate price guide is copied below the link.

As a company they certainly did a good job on his wheels from what I have seen, but how they were to deal with etc I have no idea. I only have the link because he sent it to me at the time in case it ever came in handy. He certainly recommended them, despite them often operating as a franchise.

Dont fancy doing it yourself then???

All you would need is a tyre machine and balancer, sander with various attachments, bodyfiller, some fine wet&dry, 2 aeresols of primer, 2 of silver and 2 of lacquer, a heat gun and er, about 12 hours spare.

I have been known to dabble in it but god it is hard work.

There are loads that do repairs, best to go with one that someone has used and has been good. More cowboys out there than on the course

Based in Tonbridge (Kent) they have been around for Donkeys years, and do a really good job. Your wheels will come back as good as the day they left the showroom.
They offer a collection and delivery service too.
We've used them countless times, and have never had cause to complain.
