What cleaning methods do people use to keep their clubs in tip-top condition ?

is it just a matter of a bit of warm soapy water and a wipe round or do you have a secret ingredient/process that ensures your irons and woods are sparkling ?

Mine are ready to be cleaned but would like any good tips before i attack them with a bottle of bleach and some wire wool ;)

Disclaimer :- One or more of the above cleaning regime nay be a lie !!!

My God Paul!!! I thought you were serious until I read your disclaimer.

Warm soapy water and a nail brush to clean the groves does it for me. Then carefully dry with a towel, making sure the shafts are dried and buffed up.

same as basher but ocassionally I have used brasso to buff them up.
Cleaned mine this morning as today as been a wash out. Was supposed to be playing at 1300 today but it hasn't stopped raining all day and two cried off. Hope t'mora fairs better

Basher has it nailed.

I dry my shafts and heads with a mocrofibre cloth,it gives them a lovely finish.

Then I get that funny feeeling in my tummy when I look at them!!

I remember reading on here w ahile back that you shouldnt use washing up liquid as the salt in it causes the glue to rot away. Anyway, i now use car shampoo in warm water, again usuing a nail brush to get into the grooves. Brings them up lovely!

Thats a good tip Nico , especially as i have some of them on the back of me van that i'm meant to flog to cusomers when i'm fixing their stainless steel ovens and fridge/freezers . Think i'll nip out now and 'borrow' one

I used an old toothbrush to clean the grooves with warm water. Naturally i ensure they are dry before putting them away till next outing.

And don't forget the nailbrush on the grips too. Lots of people forget them - they are your only contact with the club so keep 'em clean

I’ve said this before. There’s no way you will do any harm with a little washing up liquid in warm water.

I’ve been using all kinds of high tech industrial adhesives for years, take my word for it.

Imurg (Eh) is right, keep the grips clean as well. Just done mine and they were black...........thats because they're black!

I don't know the answer as I get HID to do mine!!!!!!! Actually thats not strictly true, she has done them once for me (for which I was very grateful). I just use an old nail brush and a drop of washing up liquid and dry them with an old golf towel

For some odd reason, I can never be bothered to clean mine up after a game. If they are caked then a maybe quick rinse down with the hose by the clubhouse.
But, preparing for a game I do mine most times, as well as choosing bag, selection of clubs, checking glove supply and balls etc. I dunk 'em in a bucket, (there's often a soapy car sponge in the bucket) use a toothbrush for the grooves and dry off with the nearest towel.
