Why was Kaymer not penalised for what looked a blatant double hit playing his 3rd shot at the 10th in his final round? Sky's Super Slo Mo showed the ball seeming to hit the hosel, then go out to the right and hit the club face, completely changing the direction.

I think you saw something no one else did....

Is this the 3rd when against that little bush ?

They thought it hit the hosel at first but it didn't when looked at closely

Give it up man.
No traction on Golfwrx so you're trolling other golf forums now.

Edited for horrific your / you're grammatical error.

ooooh, a first thread stir!

didn't watch any of the US Open, but the new local rule is that if something can only be picked up by slow-mo HD footage, then no penalty.

OK, you can judge for yourself on YouTube where someone else has already posted a replay.

Didnt watch it live, watched a recording this morning and couldnt believe there wasnt an inquiry. I checked the web and yes, it is on another forum Stuey01 but this seems blatant to me and I am interested to see what others think when they look at it closely.

If it was, and I don't think it was, Martin Kaymer would have called it had he felt it - absolutely not a grain of doubt in my mind!

Looks to me like the ball runs up the face.

Because it's a conspiracy!!! I am glad someone else thinks like me. It's the Americans ensuring that an American will go on and win their national tournament, utter disgrace I tells you. I'm going to write to my MP, or at the very least the lead singer of Echo and the Bunnymen.

Dear My Echo.....

Just the ball rolling up the face like it doesn on any other sand shot imo. Saw the shot in real time and no question of it looking like a double hit and thats plenty for me.

Have you really joined a new forum to try and discredit such a performance as Kaymers?

Even if it was a double hit (which it isnt imo) then its only a shot penalty and he still wins by a mile

I, like most golf fans I expect, am totally fed up with people trying to call penalties on players, in hindsight, with slowmo replays, thankfully they revisited the rule last year and the game can once again rely on the integrity of those playing it at the top level rather than the bored individuals at home desperate to pick them up on the tiniest possible infringements

It strikes the face close to the hosel but as the majority of people don't think it was a double hit you saying its "blatant" just makes you look silly.

Amen Steve

i watched the slo mo at the time and never for a second considered that it was a double hit. it did come off at an incredibly strange angle though. the trajectory was confusing...

I think they want Kaymer penalised for being a foreigner. 4 European winners in the last 5 US Opens and only Tiger and the forgettable Lucas Glover and Webb Simpson as US winners in the last decade.
