K Club in April?

K Club in April, worth it?

Hey guys,

me and my friends were thinking about going to the K Club in April, do you think is a good idea? How the weather will be? Will the course will be very wet? Basically, is it worth it?

It will be hard to know what weather will be mate , normally good enough , personally i prefer the Smurfit course over the Palmer Ryder cup one but they both good. some lovely hidden gem courses around Naas area aswell mate , spoiled for choice around there ..

Are you staying over in the area or whats your plans ?

I went one April (quite a few years ago - before the Smurfit was created) and the weather was absolutely perfect!

I rate K Club as the Best Hotel I've stayed in too - even if you 'catch your own meal'!

BP - have you ever played Edmondstown, it's one of our reciprocals and close to the K club, I believe.

I have not planned anything yet, I just found an offer for 4 people at the K Club, 2 nights both courses, in the apartments of the hotel, I suppose it must be nice, my only concern would be the weather I know there are such a lot of great courses around that area, must plan another visit in your beautiful country!! If I go I should ask you guys where to eat as well, I suppose the restaurants of the hotel is quite expensive

There's a good reason Ireland is Green!

Though I'd question why you 'need' to leave your neck of the woods! I played Mennagio & Caddenabia and Villa D'Este a while ago too, while staying in Bellagio. M&C was more than adequate, but the views were magnificent! VdE was wondrous - as was a meal there afterwards.

Would be interested in any feed back here myself. Playing it in March (£109 for 2 rounds and 1 night B&B )

The only thing I can comment on is the weather and that is to say god only knows. Weather forecasters can't seem to get 7 days ahead correct never mind 7 months.

Though I'd question why you 'need' to leave your neck of the woods! I played Mennagio & Caddenabia and Villa D'Este a while ago too, while staying in Bellagio. M&C was more than adequate, but the views were magnificent! VdE was wondrous - as was a meal there afterwards.

Nice! You played 2 fine courses! I played a junior championship at Menaggio and it was very good, but very narrow! Never did Villa D'Este but it must be beautiful. The fact is since I always play in Italy would like to do a trip with friends somewhere else plus, Irish beer

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the weather we often get 4 seasons in one day over here mate but unless its a really bad winter courses should be fine in April , yea the restaurant of the hotel can be a bit mad all right (or so ive been told)

Not the ideal words to use, it's one of the Jewish courses that we have a reciprocal with.

My mate has played it and he said it was very nice, must get over there some time, in a place called Rathfarnham.

Aye mate its in Dublin , just off the M50 motorway, seems a nice place allright , have never played it , you and the lads should come over for next years ICC and play it on the way ..
