Just throwing this out there guys and gals for your thoughts

Par 72 , SSS 70 ,

Won with 40pts off 14

3 players shot 39 , 1 was home player off 14
(other 2 were visitors .. we have different css for visitors aprox 13/14 h'cap)

4 players shot 38 (2 home , 13 & 14 Hcaps for home players ) roughly the same for away players

Best gross was me with 28pts (35 nett)


Css was 38 ...


69 players in total

Does that seem feasable with scores and handicap spread ?

I'm not absolutely sure what you are looking for but here is my take:

Par 72 with SSS 70 means that 38 points is the norm for "playing to handicap". As long as between 20% and 39% (approximately) of the field - with handicaps of 20 and below - are in buffer or better, then CSS will also be 38 points. If the proportion rises to 40% or higher, the CSS will go to 39 points. If it drops below 20% the CSS will be 37 points and could come down as far as 35 points or Reduction Only as the proportion decreases.

Just wondering mate thats all ,its seemed high as the scores were so bad and i dont think any cat 1 played ... i have a clearer picture now of how many (approx) need to be outside the buffer to change this

25 of the 69 has 35pts or better , not going to try work out the % of the rest
