Get a phone call from the Missus last night......
"Can you meet me in Currys after work?" she asks.
"Ooooh present for me?" I reply.
"Maybe!!" she says.
Thinking that she might have secretly ordered me a new ps4 for my birthday, I went down full of hope.
Nope. New washing machine. The old one (Bosch) which was only about 4 years old, blew up yesterday. Last time we buy any Bosch crap believe me.
So I ended up having to manhandle (have you felt how heavy a washing machine is lately) a new one out of the shop (because they couldn't deliver it until 15th Feb) and plumb it in last night.
How come whenever I take her into Currys she ends up leaving with either a new laptop, tablet or iPod but the last two times I have been down there I ended up walking out with a new iron and now a bloody washing machine???

I feel your pain...

Just before Christmas the Microwave broke down, trip to currys to get a replacement. Last Sunday the Freezer broke down, another trip to currys and I am man handling said freezer into car. Then disposing of the old Hotpoint, this was significantly heavier than replacement . Then the youngest brat broke the fridges door! Managed to fix and fully intended buying a new one today. However the wife blew the hoover up yesterday, so were away to currys today to get a new hoover instead.

My golf budget is being squeezed razor thin now.....

We bought a Bosch washing machine, got three years out of it. Utter crap will never buy another Bosch.

Bought a Samsung with a 5 year warranty and our fridge freezer has a 10 year warranty.

Got a Bosch washing machine, and it's been broken twice, when just out of warranty. Their service department is junk, at best. Our dishwasher was Bosch too. That also broke when just out of warranty. Didn't bother with their service guys that time. The first time cost me 4 days holiday, and £180.

We've gone the "Beko" route mate.
My Missus had a Beko fridge and freezer when I first met her and they both lasted well over 15 years before we replaced them a couple of years ago with new ones (Beko again). As far as I know, they are still working well for the young girl we gave them to.
Got her a Beko tumble drier a couple of years ago which she loves, so Beko was the only way to go with the new washing machine.
Decent product at a decent price.

My dishwasher packed up a while back and I replaced it with a Beko - cheap, but seems pretty darn good

On the plus side at least you can still buy a new washing machine today for the same amount of money one would cost 30 years ago
