Turned up for my first medal at the kendleshire, 2 under after 9. With the back 9 suiting my eye a lot more so chance for another 2 birdies. And rain calls off play. First comp!!!!

Oh well, club champs next weekend!

I share your pain.

I do not often play in Saturday comps as I cannot stand the usual pace of play. However, as today's event was in support of H4H I made an exception.

Got up early (by my standards) and teed off in the rain, got progressively wetter but found myself strangely enjoying it. Played 11 holes, 18 points by that stage and getting steadily better despite the worsening conditions.

You guessed it, the hooter went and the comp was abandoned.

Oh well, just have to enter three more comps to keep the handicap active.

Was it that bad? We rarely call off events midway through unless it has got to a stage where greens are totally flooded or if there is thunder and lightening and it is then too late for players to go back and complete rounds. Shame as you were going great guns at -2 and a 9 to suit your game. At least you know you can do it under pressure

It was certainly that bad in our case. Our sixth runs past the 13th green and it was already flooding when we went by, another hour and, bearing in mind the rain was heavy and relentless, it would have been impossible to find anywhere on the green to putt from.
