with this damn weather.

Went to the club today for the first time since mid December, really needing to get out. Got all my warm gear, not too worried about the cold.

Snow. Bloody snow. Course closed.

All the forecasts said "maybe some light sleet during the night"

Light sleet my ar#e!! That was snow!!!!

What have I done to deserve this?? And now its going to be so cold the next few days that its not going to thaw and I'm never ever going to play golf again!

Think I'm going to cry now..............

Just bear with it. I've found the range has been a good friend to me these past few weeks (heated bays, warm tea) and I've been able to work on my swing which paid off when I could get out and play.

Went on the range for 20 minutes, but they're not heated and the wind and snow were blowing in and it really wasn't nice.

Roll on Spring - it'll probably rain!!!

Snow still on the ground here - its just too cold for it to melt.

On the plus side the temperatures are supposed to pick up next week - but its going to blow a gale instead.

If it makes you feel any better Imurg I would gladly take your snow off your hands. I would say we get a light smattering of the stuff about once every five years in central london.

I live near a large residential estate which has a raised ground level. It provides a great strategic advantage for pelting unwitting commuters coming out of the nearby tube station....well at least it did when I was eight! If I went to do the same now I would probably be shot on sight by a fast response anti-terrorist unit.

Clean the clubs and forget about it for a while- it'll still be there next week

I know where you are coming from. I've had 7 or 8 practice sessions since my lesson and am desperate to get out and play. The course is open, but the greens are rock solid ice and the temp is well under freezing, which means too many clothes etc.

Pity, I'm back to work in less than 24 hours.

It's -2 here still and I have just been out on a test drive, part of our "route" takes me past Highwoods Golf Club. The car park was packed, and there were people playing on each hole I could see from the road.
They must be barking (and I mean barking) mad
:D :D

I am off to China at the weekend, just for a week, so no range practice for me. Shan't bother playing before I go, as I got fed up with the silly conditions last week. I think the greens need to thaw out for over a week before we are allowed back onto them.

In the meantime, I have tennis elbow in both elbows, and have put my neck out. To top it all, I think I am getting a cold.

Depressed?

Yes.
