Just paid the deposit for a nice trip up to silloth, play here twice a year and the spring round really gets me in the mood for the rest of the season! Can't wait. Anyone else start their season with an away day to blow away the cobwebs?

Was supposed to be playing at my old home club at Belton Park this weekend with my oldest friends, but it doesn't look likely that we're making the trip north now :(

But it does mean we will probably go to the local SEAT garage to test drive a brand new SEAT Exeo that we can't afford :D

My Sister got married few Months ago, her husband is golf mad and when he foound out I play Golf he was on the phone pronto, he has booked this weekend for us to play 2 rounds Saturday, 2 rounds Sunday O_O
Im looking forward to it but Im not sure 4 rounds of golf in one weekend will do my fallen arches anygood.....

What the hell, as a Drill sergeant once shouted to me 'Pain is a sensation, sensations are to be enjoyed!'

Had one last Friday to Machrihanish, thats certainly the place to blow away a few cobwebs, bloody hell the wind can blow!

Unfortunately I couldnt get the ball off the tee, only hit 4 fairways the whole day, so the card was ripped up and money lost pretty early on. Ended up just kicking back onto the fairway so I could play some proper iron shots the way Old Tom intended.

Great course, well worth the 350 mile round trip and subsequent stiff back from the drive, going back in the summer.

not started the season with an away trip but trying to oganise one for september and its proving hard work,

Some want ireland
Some Want Spain
Some want turkey
Some want uk

i just want some head ache tablets.

I sorted a trip to Ireland this year 3 nights B&B & Unlimited golf at Carton House for £240, looks a really good deal, unfortunately I'll be golfing when the Springboks hammer the Welsh at the rugby world cup!

not exactly soon - but heading to Matfen Hall with friends for a weekend in May any views on the course? (not that it really matters - the "wimmin-folk" booked it for the spa, us men are merely tagging along - a weekend away ANYwhere with friends golfing is always good)

then got the Carrick in the summer for my Dad's b'day

I'm off on a long weekend trip to Yarmouth with the misses brother and two of his mates next week. I've booked off weds - tues, so my plan is:

Weds morning - game at home club for handicap card
Thursday - Yarmouth and Caister GC
Friday - Marriott Sprowston Manor
Saturday - Caldecott Hall GC,
Sunday - rest
Monday - home club final handicap card
Tuesday - home club, depending on my 3 cards may see if I can better the worst.

It's not Malaga like last year, monte mayor was a dream course! But it's a week of playing the sport I love with no nagging from the lady!

Good times!

montemayor seems to be getting alot of mentions recently and I seem to be the only one who thought it was a mickey mouse effort. So many better courses available down there.

I'm off to dumfries to avoid the royal wedding-

Brighouse
kirkcudbright
Southerness

It was more the setting, in the mountains it was nice to look at, the golf I played was horrific! I'd definetly go back though.

I'm looking forward to a trip to the soft tissue injuries clinic next Thursday.

Fingers crossed(no pun intended!)for some positive news.

3 days golf in Cornwall from the Tuesday after The Masters.

St Eggnog
Trevose
Newquay

So looking forward to it. :D

You will have to let me know next time you are up, would love to try Belton Park (no offer to play when I was looking at joining). I can exchange it for a round at Stoke.

We've got to book a round on the Monty or Roman Rd (@Celtic Manor) because we got free rounds by doing the par3 challenge on the 13th on The 2010.

We're thinking of going somewhere else in South/East Wales for the 2nd day.

Any suggestions?

Is Newquay a decent course?

Yea, no worries mate. It's a great track. Best parkland in the county (not including woodhall :)) IMO.

Would love to have a knock round stoke again. I've forgotten what it's like it's been so long!

i have a trip booked via the club(westerham) to play at foxhills in surrey on the 30th including a nice meal afterwards can't wait.

I think it's very good. The bunkering is excellent there and like the majority of Links', the greens are fantastic.

I think I'm right in saying no 2 consequtive holes run in the same direction. Good test even in the lightest of breezes.
