Just been for a fitting but I can't decide between Taylormade or Orka

Louise.

If you took the names out of it and asked, "I'm going to invest in a new set, should I invest in a well known manufacturers set or a set that performs well and looks good but is marginally cheaper and made by a not so well known manufacturer," there would only be one answer.

It normally goes along the lines of, if you can afford it stick to the main manufacturers, i.e. Ping, TM, Callaway, Titleist.

As others have said , go with what ever you feel is right. You would be happy with either of them it seems. If you think one is edging it go for them . What ever you decide enjoy.

Why?

If the stats were more or less the same go for the one which you like the look of best forgetting all about the brand.

Don't be a brand junkie, because if tm thought that orka were a threat due to popularity and price and sales were on the rise , then they would probably buy the company and keep the name and spec of the clubs the same just increase the price a bit to give you the impression that you are buying into a premium brand.

Might be worth going back again and having another wee go with each. I think that a reasonable fitter seeing that you're in a dilemma will let you do so in the hope they get the sale.

That's very strong for a 6 iron, that 26.5 degree is less than my 5 iron, it's a bit weird if your hitting both the same distance with that big a jump in lofts, that's almost a 2 club difference.

I'd try them again just to make sure, but if I was you I'd choose the one with the higher loft if it goes the same distance, will be easier to control.

TM 26.5 against Orka 31

The TM is half a degree stronger than my 5 iron and over a full club stronger than the Orka.

Strange that they go the same distance.

How were the distances measured?

Does your fitter have access to a Flightscope or Trackman to get the specifics between the two?

Go with what you feel most comfortable with

I have always had good service from TM but I know you also get very good service from Orka - underrated clubs
