Just got home had a great day, seen all the players, quite a relaxed atmosphere, that will change in Friday, course looks in great condition, Stevie g got an extra special reception all the way round, roll on tomorrow!

Ps Easily spend a fortune in the massive retail shop

A friend was lucky enough to play there a few days ago (not on Ryder Cup course) but they weren't allowed to bring their own golf bags for "security reasons" and had to use Gleneagles own clubs!

A word of caution to those intending going to Gleneagles.

Security seem to be very inconsistent with the application of bag size rules. I saw a lot of folks with slightly larger than the 12x12x12 inch rule, however, I also heard of folks being told that if they come again with a larger bag, they will not be allowed in - the security guy even too out a ruler to measure the bag!

My rucksack is slightly larger (needed for the extra coat etc that we are told we must take) but not a comment was made.

I guess it depends on who you get in the bag check area :(

Who played along with Stephen today . and did they play well ??.

Can't believe it's 3 weeks since I was teeing off on what is now the driving range!

To all those that are going it will be an experience you will never forget as the staff at Gleneagles are by far the best in the world at what they do.

Have a great time and an extension on your mortgage!

on the 10th it was 7 deep watching the tee shots (I counted) and this is day 1 Practice- cant imagine you'll see much on the actual days unless your in front of your 50" HD Plasma:whoo:

Im still going to give it a go on Sat. The plasma will do on the other days....and it's 55" thanks very much :D

I went to the Jonnie Walker Classic there last year. Fabulous looking course and most holes are designed for the spectator as well as the player, eg ground is raised around greens etc. Prices for food and drink sound similar to then, standard for big events. Viewing at the JW was a doddle as the numbers will be a fraction of the Ryder Cup.

Anyone impressed by the course should look to go to the JW next year when it returns as it really is a great place to watch golf. For the Ryder Cup you will get a great atmosphere but I don't fancy fighting to get a view so I shall be watching at home. Hope those who go get to see plenty of action.

I'm not surprised the way he played for England in the World Cup, he was awful. So I bet the Scots loved that.

I'm going on Saturday with my lad, but even he doesn't have a bag thats less than 12" tall. How can anyone get a bag in with these rules?

I'm off there tomorrow and Friday. I can't wait but the bag size limitations have riled me a little. I can't find a bag that's small enough, all I want is something to put my sarnies and jacket in (if the sun is out) but it seems they've chosen the dimensions to be as awkward as possible.
