Playing my first medal tomorrow and hoping to get a few bounce games to work out a handicap before a stableford next weekend. One of my mates who plays out another club is coming up for a bounce game on friday. Would he be able to sign my scorecard for handicap purposes or does it have to be a member of the same club that signs?

Probably a daft question but hey ho.

Em ask at the club? The "rules" differ between clubs with regards about how to get an initial handicap.

Definitely worth asking them, I asked the same question of our club pro a few years ago and was told they'd accept cards with a signature from anyone with an active handicap.

Aye was gonna ask, just wondering if there was a definite answer without having to phone up. Id imagine my club would be fine with it, my mates got his active handicap.

A daft question from me as well.

How can you be playing in a medal if you haven't got your handicap yet?

At my club, you can play in a medal as one of your 3 rounds to get a handicap, all 3 if you like.

yep, my 3 cards were all done in medals, i could just not win any of them ( well i didn't have a handicap but i sup i could have won the scratch;) )

just marked the card "for handicap"
