Have finally put my three cards in to obtain my official handicap at my new club.. They were scores of 88, 89 and 89 with nothing more then double bogey's on them. The par for the course is 70 so I'm taking it I'll be playing off 18.
I now have to play three comps before being illegible to win any prizes, with the first being a week on Saturday.

Handicap is based on the scratch score for the course rather than par. Sometimes it's the same but not always. Could be higher or lower.

Do you know the SSS for your course?

I don't know if I mislead anyone with my post but if I did I'll clear it up. Not new to this annoying game and have been playing about 9 years and I have returned to a club where I was a member before ( about 5 years ago ), hence the need for a new handicap
So, at the moment playing some good golf after having a few lessons and looking to kick on through the season once I get my handicap

I did some website "what's my handicap" thing the other day with three cards. Just for kicks and giggles and not official of course, and it came out at 28. Game Golf has me at 33.5 for the same rounds. It's a benchmark and I'd be wetting myself if I was 20. Stay strong soldier :)

With gamegolf being US design and based I suspect it doesn't use Congu structure as the other handicap software does which will account for the difference. Don't worry about it it's only a number just enjoy the game.

I agree. I really just try my best and keep my scorecards. Lower scores mean I'm doing better :)

He did say nothing worse than double bogey.

Darn speed reading lol

I would still be surprised if he is given more than 18.

When I got my handicap I put in two cards and I went +20/+11 for a total +31, +18,+5 for a total +23 and was given a handicap of 16! Didn't get the chance to put in third card ...

Shot a 90 for+21 in my first medal.

Keep us posted with what you get and enjoy more medal golf. :D
