Junior golf...

That's all I have seen.

Pretty strange really...but then again a woman usually gets cheaper fees but pays the same pay and play rate.

Golf Club owners are strange
so does that mean its fair to pay them less in the work place ..... (Controversial ... I know, but I don't understand if there is no limitation as that would be illegal)

If the work is identical, the pay should be identical. Equal pay legislation and all that. I'm all for equal rights, but there needs to be a handbook provided to some women to explain that equal rights means EQUAL RIGHTS not just all the perks!

Can we just keep this to juniors please gents ;)

I've noticed same as everyone else and whilst I applaud the significant reductions on membership I can't help but feeling it's wrong to charge a full green fee. If we want more youngsters playing the game surely accessing a range of courses for less dosh will boost their enjoyment, improve their game and encourage parental support?

Mmmm I feel some research in the pipeline...

My club offers massive discounts on membership. I have never seen a discount on green fees and it is probably against the Equalities Act. TBH I have paid more for one green fee at a posh course than it costs for junior membership at my club.

Just performed a quick bit of research on my 3 local clubs. Each of these offer Junior memberships ( some as low as 15% of the full membership) and also Junior Green Fees ( ranging between 40-60% of full price).

One club even has a sliding scale depending on age from 22-29, the younger you are the cheaper it is ( but this just makes me feel old).

I think golf in general needs to understand that juniors have so many distractions these days ( not all good) that they have to fight for their attention, and their cash.
