I've been offered the opportunity to take over as Junior Organiser at my Club and I'm trying to get some info
about competitions available in our County, Kent.
The County office has little info about Junior leagues in Kent, so I wondered if anyone out there knows of any
Junior leagues in the west of Kent.

You need to start with the basics within your own club first IMO. A good coaching programme which is available to all your Junior members, a good spread of competitions across the season to allow them to maintain accurate handicaps and a group of helpers to make running the Junior section a straightforward task.

Junior league is fine, but you're only really using the top few players for League matches. You need to make sure every one of the Juniors feels involved in their club.

It's a time consuming job, but it is rewarding as you see them progress over a period of time. I'm in my second year as Junior Convenor having helped out for a spell before that so I've seen both sides of the story.

Are you the comittee member with the big people carrier then?
If there is not a local league then start one yourself.
I helped set up the Guilford and District League about 27 years ago, still going strong.

The county should send you all the info on the leagues opens and the sorts. That's what Durham county do
Thanks Wayman, I expected the County to help but it seems they're only interested in their own competitions,
but not league golf run independent to the County.

Thanks DCB, it's me that's new, not the Club's Junior section. It is well established with programmes for all
levels, but I was just looking for whatever else might be available.

In Leeds there is the LDUGC which include the Leeds Junior section.. The LDUGC sorts all of our knockouts and leagues out:)
