This guy's in some serious form at the moment. 137th in the world at the start of the year to just outside of the top 10 after finishing 2nd to DJ yesterday.

Has great form going into the Masters......

He's now one of the favourites to win the masters.

Hits the ball a mile with such a short backswing.

Been a long time since a 1st timer won round Augusta, but he is carrying some great form. My money's on Westwood

to finish 4th after never challenging for the lead and sneaking into the places ;)

Wasn't Willet a first timer last year?

If you were to take away the minimum divisor of 40 events he would be ranked #2 ahead of Rory (ignoring the decay over time here as he doesn't quite have 2 years of tournaments)

Rahm is going to be a world no.1 very soon .he is no doubt the real deal and will be looking at a major this year ,if not the green jacket then our very own open.
if it hadnt been for a few nerves playing DJ in the final he would have won easily ,to come back from 5 down to only lose by one was some awesome playing.

I backed Rahm to win the WGC matchplay and thought even against DJ in the final he would win......until early on Rahm gave DJ a put and DJ didnt do likewise resulting in Rahm missing and losing his composure for 4 or so holes and throwing the final :(.

Rahm is a class player

DJ just won 3 tournaments in a row though

That is pretty special

Rahm looks like he got very rattled, he needs to control that if he ever want to be #1

I was just about to post about why its taken him so long to find the form etc, thinking he was about 30ish. I just thought he was a journeyman who was doing well

Just checked him out..I can't believe he's only 22, turned pro last year and was leading amatuer at last years US Open and Ranked No1 in the World Amateur Rankings

Yep, based on that and the way he's ripping it up at the moment he could certainly be World No1 in the near future.

I thought he holed that putt and DJ went one up on the next?

He does look about 40 to be fair

What a fine effort from Rahm last night and definitely gave DJ something to think about. I'm not sure about him for Augusta as I think it's somewhere you really have to learn. Not many have done well trying to bomb it round Augusta and think the trees will be an issue if he/they go off line

Scary when you you look at the ages of players like Rahm, ie 22.

The pro game is going the way of the amateur game for sure, going to dominated by players with a much lower average age than it ever has been before.

I dont think he will win Augusta first time round as that place needs some working out but his low ball flight will defo suit Royal Birkdale.

He certainly has the talent. Once he matures enough to play his own game against the course his true skills will bring home the trophies.
