so I decided to go back to my old club, now I have found a local range with grass/chipping area to use it wasnt as big an issue with the club.

£150 until Jan so 5 months golf starting with 18 tomoz, Thursday and Monday and a medal on the 17th :)

Handicap is still active so no 3 cards to hand in, can't wait

Sweet!! Great value too!

I was gonna join whitehills but my mate said the old club is in great nick so will do until Jan then might look elsewhere. I just need rounds under my belt.

Happy days Steve

Game will come on leaps and bounds with regular play and practice and you'll be well ready to defend your crown at next years ICC

Yeah Phil, going for a game with a mate whose a member in a couple of weeks, might be a possibility next year if they have a deal on. Its his 1st club and he is really enjoying it.

when did you leave?

the applicable rules are

26.1 If the handicap of a player is to be restored within six months of the date in which his handicap was lost, or suspended, it must be reinstated at the same handicap the player last held.
26.2 If a player’s handicap is to be restored within 6 to 12 months then it must be reinstated at the same handicap the player last held but not marked as a competition handicap (c). In all other cases the player shall be allotted a new handicap after he has complied with the requirements of Clause 16.

but in either case the handicap will need to be formally reinstated by the handicap committee - that it has been left sitting on the system isn't quite the same thing!

Does seem to be a failing of the system my nephews club membership expired October 13 and he hasn't renewed as uni beckons but on england golf cdh check he is still marked as active but no home club?

by definition if he hasn't a club membership his handicap isn't active

cdh needs to retain the record to help in the administration of the above clauses (yes the old club should retain the records etc but it makes much more sense to have the dormant record sitting against the existing CDH number (IMO)

Well thats all done and dusted.

Played 9 holes and went round in 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a whopping 25 points and had 3 4 pointers haha, driver is working a treat and irons were like arrows. Putting was always decent and didnt have to make many chips so short game wasnt really stressed. I spent an hour after the round chipping and putting and was bloody good :)

My last competitive round was december 2013 so surely its still active? Anyway signed up for 3 comps and playing 18 tomoz after a trip up the range.

The grass range is at Aston (Stevenage golf course) just at the end of it, chipping area there and at Gravely aswell. Both have cheapish par 3's aswell for extra practice so all bases well and truly covered.

Good start back, if your membership ended dec13, you would be in the 6-12 month section (26.2) as above which means same h/cap but inactive or not marked competition as it is now, but the club should confirm.

thats ok as will soon get 3 card in. Not bothered about being able to win, just get playing as never want to be as bad as I was in Ireland ever again! :D

That is quite a good par 3 course at Chesfield.
