Hello all,i'm new to the forum
i,ve just moved to the Chorley,Lanc's area and i'm looking to join a new club
I'm thinking of either Chorley or Pleasington.
would anyone have any advice regarding course, social aspect of the clubs, and integrating into the clubs.
Any advice would be welcome.

Hi Qwerty i belive there are a few members from up your way who could give you some advice.

Shall Hill is nice but expensive,Charnock Richard is incredibly wet

Thanks Andi,
played Shaw Hill in august,i enjoyed the course, but I believe it does'nt hold up to well in the winter.
Also heard they host a lot of corporate events.
It just does n't have much of a 'club' feel to it.

Very true about Shaw Hill i was a member at Charnock and it was rubbish esp off the whites some holes where unplayable.

A friend of mine was assistant pro at Chorley about 10 years ago and was going to join there again or Pleasington its just a little bit out of our way,

Your quite lucky with the wealth of decent courses in your area iam struggling to find somewhere suitable around here

Hi Qwerty, A work mate of mine has been trying to join Chorley (has mates already there) and they currently have no membership vacancies availble. They may have some in the future if they have any non renewals. Quite a big joining fee at Chorley, £800+ (over 5 years). Good course playable all year.
Pleasington is a very select club and is very strict on new member application. Introduction and seconding is adhered to and when yo are accepted you become a provisional member until a full member vacancy becomes available. It is a top quality course though and used for Open qualifying.

Which side of Chorley are you based, Wigan, Bolton or Preston. There are numerous good courses around the area, it just depends where you are and how far you are willing to travel.

Thanks Russ
I'm just near botany bay, so quite easy to get about.
Don,t know why but i just presumed there would be no waiting list at Chorley. i've got an interview coming up so i'll hopefully find out more info'.
