hi guys, bit of help required ..looking to join a links course in ayrshire, preference being western or glasgow gailes..dont know any members there just now..so question is ..how can i join a club when i have no one to sign my application? any feedback would be appreciated..

Write an introductary letter and take it in to the Secretary.

I've moved around the UK a lot and have always found that by taking it in to them, saying hello and being on your best behaviour, works every time.

Also try to get your employer to write e reference for you.
I had the same problem when I joined my club. I also got a complementary round and ended up playing with a couple of members and also had a good chat with the then president whilst waiting on the first tee. Once I had decided I was going to join the club sec got them to propose and second the application.

If you contact the club and say you are interested they might offer an introductory round (or at least nine holes) and arrange a look round. Ask if there is anyone you can play with and put you up for memebership and see what they say.

I had the same issue when I joined my current club.

I went in and had a chat with the secretary, and he gave me a membership pack. After that a playing in round was arranged with the outgoing captain (becomes the membership secretary) and then an informal chat and that was it.

Got the call the same day to advise I was being offered full membership and a letter with all the details would be in the post.
