Johnnie Walker Championship.

yes I'll be there probably Friday and Saturday- havent got any freeby tickets yet so if anyone has a Scottish Golf show ticket they dont want please PM me.

As DV is now fixed up, I will certainly have one, maybe two tickets that I can make available to anyone who wants to attend.

Let me know this evening as I will not have internet access once I leave home very early Wednesday morning!

I was up there today very disappointed. Not sure if the prize money's dropped but the quality of the field was very low and the tented village was a joke apart from the food outlets there is the bar 1 stand from gleneagles (consisting off 2 pros and a bowl with tees asking you to guess how many to win an over night stay ) and the championship merchandise tent which you have to pass thro to enter from the busses. No other tourist resorts pushing their counties or even the aspri stand with all the nick nac accessories .

I don't see why you need a lot in the tented village, surely you go to watch the golf not go to see some stands. Go the the Scottish golf show if you want that. As long as there's some food and some merch then the only other thing you need is golf.

I don't think adding to the tented village would attract more people to go cos people go to watch the golf.

Was there today and thought the numbers were down on the last couple of years. Didn't see much of a change in the tented village, looked just like last year really. Was out on the course watching the golf, so had a good day. I went out on the 1st, 2nd, 9th, 10th, 17th and 18th and saw most of the field at one time or other. Spent last hour watching the guys tinkering on the practice ground. Fascinating to see them trying to find that elusive bit of magic we all look for. Some of their short game practice was nothing short of breath taking.

Thought the course was looking good after the dry summer and although it yielded plenty of birdies for some, it bit others hard. Looking forward to watching the rest on tv over the weekend.

Re = the quality of field, it clashes with The Barclays in the good old US of A so prize money is peanuts in comparison. I know where I'd play given the chance ;)

Score level par and there is nearly 100 guys in front of you....that's tough.

It goes to show the quality of these guys ......... I played the course at the end of June and struggled to play anywhere near my handicap. In fact I played the Kings course much better

Playing it next week straight after the tournament end, will be interesting to see how far back I am on some of the Par 5's these guys were reaching with a drive and an Iron:eek:

was there today and spent ages at the range.......it really is ridiculous how differently they strike the ball to us humans......watched paul Lawrie and every shot looked like he was swinging a wedge but with a great sound and excellent distance.

I hardly saw anyone drawing or fading their ball, everyone was hitting laser straight and long
