Have they gone bust ? I know they had a tie in with DG but since the Ashley deal it seems that's not happening anymore. It doesn't look like they have hardly anything for sale anywhere either new or second hand .

Direct Golf actually bought the John Letters brand back in 2005.
This was the press announcement.

Direct Golf UK, Europe’s largest golf retailer has bought the Glasgow-based brand, John Letters of Scotland, which fell into receivership after experiencing trading difficulties.
Founded in 1918, John Letters boasts a heritage and reputation for producing quality golf clubs, having pioneered the introduction of steel shafts into European and launching the Golden Goose putter in 1946 and the Masters Model clubs used by Fred Daly to win The Open a year later. In 1948 no less that eight of Great Britain and Ireland’s ten players in the 10 man Ryder Cup used Letters equipment.
Commenting on the purchase Direct Golf UK’s managing director, John Andrew, said, "It was a tragedy to hear that such a great British company had fallen into receivership. I felt compelled to acquire the business and in so doing so protect its future security within the golf industry."

I would imagine that the powers that be have decided it is not worth continuing promoting the brand and just discontinued it.

The TR47's with Project X shafts were excellent irons and i got rid of mine too soon !!! In retrospect i wish i had kept them in the shed and now there's none to be found anywhere. Shame that DG just let it go to ruin.

There was a 50% off code on direct golf for them about 2 months ago. Ended up buying the Master Models in black for 150 quid 3-PW just to maybe shift on at a later date... then I succumbed to temptation and they're in the bag.
