John Inverdale: Why?

It's a slip of the tongue - not really worth worrying about

Real star of the Tie, imo, was James Ward who, as he did against Russia, beat a player ranked significantly above him!

Highly unlikely to get a result in the Doubles, and court selection was designed to be as Murray-unfriendly as possible, so imperative to get result in 'second' Singles and he did the business!

Excellent result all round though.

I'll have you know that oor Queen Lizzie the First has more Scottish blood in her than English.

Plenty on her hands too!

Not from Inverdale.
At the rugby he constantly refers to England as 'We'
Very annoying.

Anyway didn't Scotland do well at the Davis Cup. The Queen of Scotland will be very pleased.
[might be a couple of slips of typing there]

According to a guest on the Andrew Marr show the British got beat by the French on Saturday :(...

Apparently, 'error' was quickly corrected by AM...

Oor Lizzie is the current one....perhaps you are thinking of Elizabeth the 1st of England.

Indeed I was. Doh!

Not a lot of Scottish Blood in (nor on) her - perhaps a bit more in than QE1oE now I get my 16thC History sorted out too.

Certainly more German than Scottish!

Just exactly what English blood actually is is a bit tricky! Seems to be a fair amount of Northern Europe aka Scandinavian, as even the Normans were descendents from that area!
