This isn't meant to be a prying, personal question so please don't answer if you don't want, but I was just wondering what jobs people have due to the fact that midweek games/competitions are often mentioned? Also how everyone has time for 2,3,4 rounds a week?

I think I mentioned in my intro post that I am 'between careers' at the moment so just wanted to see how people fit in games throughout the week etc.?

I work as a recruitment administrator for a local NHS trust hiring anything from kitchen and portering staff to nurses (every job has a perk) and up to theatre staff. As it is public sector I get to work flexi time so can build my hours up and take either two half days or one full day per month.

I'm one of the retired old slow playing grumpy seniors that Forumers are always moaning about.

(Was in the quickest group in the GM Pace of Play experiment however) :D :D

Summer games are easy as I work flexi-hours. If I start earlier I can finish at 4.00, losing no time, which leaves plenty for 18-holes in summer.

I can also take 12 flexi-days a year but the hours have to be made up. I can take time off in advance so long as I don't exceed 10hr30 debit over a month.

Get a bit of wet weather (no problem this year!) and I can work longer and make up time.

Yeah a few friends have flexi-time but I work in an office job, nothing high profile, and my company don't have flexi-time. Also work in central London until 6pm so even in summer it wouldn't be feasible by the time I get home and then get to the course.

Looking for a new job though so will have to search for flexi-time!...

I work in marketing, usual office hours so really only get to place once a week at best over the winter. In the summer though there is nothing better then winding down after a stressful day in the office then playing a quick 9 and then a stop in the 19th!!!

I also have no holiday left now from golf days, which the wife is really pleased about!

I'm self employed, so can take time off, then make it up later without to much trouble.

I have been in here at 05:00 before now to make up time so I can have a game.

I work for a National(well international now) milk processing company & we run 4 on 4 off shifts, this enebles me some weeks to get upto 4 rounds of golf, should I wish a week. Though as often as not its one maybe two one week, three or four another & then I might not get the time at all for a couple of weeks. But of course add to this the fact some weeks are night shifts & its entirely possible to play 12 days out of 16, though some of those I'd simply do 9 holes rather than a full 18

I'm a plumber/heating engineer and use the old " job and finish" rules to suit, more so in the summer but its harder between October and Feb as them months are by far the busiest.
